Equal Opportunity Complaints
It is the policy of the Department of Defense to conduct operations free from discrimination and to provide equal opportunity and treatment for all members without regard to their color, race, religion, national origin, sex or age.
Discrimination complaints are initially addressed through the chain of command. The goal is to attempt to resolve complaints at the lowest level and to reinforce command responsibility in managing complaints; in rendering decisions; and in achieving timely and reasonable resolution of these complaints.
All discrimination complaints must be in writing and must identify the kind, date and act of discrimination, the alleged discriminating official(s) or person(s), and the requested corrective action.
