Personal Use of Government Resources

Government resources should be for official use and authorized purposes.

Commanders may authorize personal use of government resources in the following situations:

• No adverse effect on duty performance

• Reasonable duration and frequency

• Serves a legitimate public interest

• Does not overburden Government communications

• Does not reflect poorly on the Department of Defense

• No significant additional costs

Government resources may never be used to operate a private business.
